Topic: Debian History Image

This was shared on google+ today .. I think it is worthy of sharing here too..

This shows the incredible history of Debian in a single, very cool image..  It also does a great job explaining the process of Stable/Testing/Sid

What amazes me is the 474 packages to 29000 today and 120 developers to 1450 today... I would be interested as to what qualifies you as a debian developer..

Re: Debian History Image

Very interesting, thanks for the link. And what happened between sarge, etch, and lenny to cause the number of "developers" to fall from 1500 to 1010?

I always wondered why "debian" so I did a google search and came up with this (maybe old info to many)

http://www.go2linux.org/The-origin-of-d … code-names

I remember when the "rolling release" concept scared me. Now I'm sold hmm

Re: Debian History Image

I am curious about that too .. Is it possible that they jumped ship to Ubuntu ???  Timeline is correct..

Here is a written version of the history

I also love the reason why Sid is Sid...  Perfect choice..
