Topic: Feedback: I'm lovin' it!

I finally got around to running #! in VB, and now I'm hooked! I've only been using Linux since May last year. I started with Mint 10 Main Edition. After seeing the "future" of Gnome a few months ago, I started disto-hopping, looking at everything, and found LXDE distros to be a happy replacement. But even now, some of the murmurs from the same sort of people like me that don't like the idea of a cell phone desktop, are the same LXDE users that are slowly implementing changes to make LXDE more like what they just abandoned! Sheesh!

Anyway, after running #! over the past couple of days, I'm suprised at how much I've learned about Linux in less than a year. I was bummed that Firefox wasn't available, but I've actually warmed up to Iceweasel to the point that I may replace Firefox on my other distros.

So, Thanks to all the people that made this distro possible!  This is a KEEPER!  big_smile

EDIT:  By the way, "all the people" responsible for CrunchBang are Corenominal, aka Philip.  I suppose Bobobex is also responsible, as Corenominal's wife.

welcome to #! Bob E. btw, Firefox is available for #!, just not through the repos. you can just download the tarball from the Mozilla-site and extract that and run Firefox no problem. Iceweasel is also essentially the same thing, but unbranded for FOSS-purposes.

I did the FF tarball install the first day I had #! running in VB, but figured ...eh...alot of work for the same result. I can still install all my prefered add-ons on Iceweasel...samey-same.

#! is pretty much straight forward, so adding my own tweaks is a piece of cake. I'll be back when I have more time to peruse the threads for Conky info. (Never delt with Conky before.)

At this exact moment, I'm running a fresh install of #! on a desktop. WOOO HOO! So, I've moved on to "Commitment". I'm ready if LXDE distros take a funny turn here in a few months when Lucid is history. (Shoot, I'm having too much fun with this! I may not even bother with the others.)

Here at the #! asylum no one is gonna pick on you if you do not bother with the other, here is only understanding and support to find. Having fun with it is a high priority to respect, so welcome and enjoy!
