Topic: ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/e/eglibc/libc6_2.11.3-2_i386.deb

Attempting to update ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/e/eglibc/libc6_2.11.3-2_i386.deb is a constant failure:

It will not download in synaptic, & therefore prevents certain other updates from taking place.

Furthermore, downloading directly from the Debian repository fails at about 2.4MiB.

It would seem that for the sake of 3.7MiB, my system cannot be properly updated.

Why are you attempting to update libc6?

It's in the upgradable section in synaptic, & it's (server?) failure to download is preventing other updates from taking place.

As I write, I'm 'downpouring' the latest version of #!, which corresponds to almost all the changes I've made to my 'old' Statler install, & will obviously be gooder, so, this is probably a problem solved, or, negated, at least.

can you run

 apt-cache policy libc6

I'll try this, if this problem ever arises in my fresh, up-to-date #! 10-20111125 install.

libc6 updated no problem.
