Topic: Diving in, #! style!

I'm just starting out with #!, knowing a little bit of several *nix distros and a bunch of FreeBSD.  Never really got "into" any of those for any length of time.   Came across #! a few weeks back.   DL and tried it out on various boxen I have - all played nicely and for the most part "just worked".

Plans are to give it more testing - primarily using basic office apps (Abi / Gnumeric / PDF) and then on to other media / internet apps.  Features I am very keen on are the clean, minimalist interface and the the "max use of hardware" I am seeing.  Reminds me a bit of when I first tried BeOS on hardware that I was running WinXP on - blown away by the speed difference.  I guess you never know until you try it out.

Also delighted to see such a content-rich Forum and Wiki.   If all goes well I look forward to the opportunity to contribute back.

My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can.

Welcome. You may now destroy your others nix cd's and remove other .iso's from your HD. Your search is complete wink
