Topic: Oye! New fan; new member!

Hi there CrunchBang communty!

I must start with letting you all know how much I am loving CrunchBang! I love it love it love it. My first encounter with #! was way back when it was still Ubuntu-based. And while everyone loves Ubuntu-based distros for some reason - I always stuck with the originals (i.e. Debian, Gentoo, Slackware, RedHat, etc.) so I never really got into using #! much. I just looked at it as yet another Ubuntu clone geared towards an idea someone had for it. For the past year or so I've solely used pentest/infosec distros. But nowadays I find them too bloated for my taste. So I started building my own minimal Debian (Debian has always been my favorite) pentest distro for personal use; and was going to use either Fluxbox or Openbox for my WM. THEN! I somehow wandered my way back to the #! homepage and nearly cried with joy when I saw it was Debian-based now. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.

Hmh.  The food's all gone.  I'm going to have to run off to the market for some stuffed clams and the makings for a pot of potato-cod chowder.  BRB.

Hi to all the gang.
I'm French (nobody is perfect as says S&P...). 52 since a few days. As a kid I have used punch cards on IBM1130 lol I'm working with spacecrafts. No, I'm not a rocket scientist tongue
I used more or less Linux since Red Hat 4.2. Recently (a couple of years) I was using Ubuntu and was quite happy with it up to the day they start to play havoc with their f....g interface. I know that I can change it but that has upset me too much and I was also a bit tired of the six months life cycle (yes there is LTS...). Then I just discovered #!. Tested it and adopted it big_smile. I feel comfortable with the minimalist spirit and I like the 'old school' approach of Debian. Could be polished a little bit more but rough edges keep you smart tongue
