Probably pointless ... Am not familiar with that netbook, not so much interested in live gnu/nix installs atm either. Think it's kewl all the stuff opensource devs can do though. When someone says I've tried many progs, done this n that. Doesn't at all help me thinks. With that outta the way, from dumping too much time on a couple distro forums have kept seeing pendrivelinux pop up over n over. Link 2 site.
If you've already tried it and are sure you did everything right ... then dunno. Oops, forgot another kinda related piece of opensource goodness ya might look over ... PLop, supposed to let people boot from usb, even if their bios doesn't support it. Never used either pendriveetc or PLop yet. So o course sayin don't know if it'll work out for your situation or ....

Nope o course thought of more babble, who know ... somebody may get use or whatever. If you're sure it worked before and has stopped, perhaps summin you did ? Dig around in bios or reset them. Or if feeling adventurous update/flash bios if any updates are available for that sys ? Ok now good and done.
