Topic: Textbook style exercise labeling in LaTeX

Does any one know how to skip the space in itemize and align with the problem number, as in:

10. (a) This is part a of problem ten.
      (b) Part b.
      (c) No ma'am, I apologize but I did not order the ham sandwich, I ordered the primavera pasta.
