Topic: Request: new Statler Theme alternative window decoration

Hi guys, I really love the new statler theme of the point release, but IMHO the xfwm and openbox themes are not as good as the theme itself.
I don't know...It seems to me that they lacks personality compared to the old Statler and Shiki Statler theme with the "dots" buttons.

So here my request: can someone among you #! artists create an alternative version of the XFWM and openbox themes for the new Statler theme? Maybe inspired by the old "dotted" one?

Yeah I dig the 02/2011 braille theme. You can just grab it from the feb release that is still available at http://mirror.dustinhess.com/crunchbanglinux.org/

It's still all gray-scale, so it matches in that regard. The February theme was a lot darker than the November one. You could probably just download the braille theme for openbox somewhere. Or you could mix and match the themes from the two ISOs. Also, I vaguely recall someone linking the February theme on this forum shortly after the November .iso was released, but I couldn't locate it myself, hence why I linked the .iso. If you are strapped for bandwidth, you might want to search around the forums or wait for someone else to link it.

You don't have to download the whole iso file.

You can also get the themes from the crunchbang repo.

I would recommend not to install the deb file. Just untar it and move the themes to ~/.themes/

Something like this:

wget -c http://packages.crunchbanglinux.org/statler/pool/main/statler-theme_0.20_all.deb
dpkg -x statler-theme_0.20_all.deb ~/tmp/
cp -Rv ~/tmp/usr/share/themes/* ~/.themes/
rm -R ~/tmp/usr/

Well, all the "old" packages are here http://packages.crunchbanglinux.org/statler/pool/main/ and I downloaded http://packages.crunchbanglinux.org/sta … 20_all.deb but I couldn't find the braille theme you are referring to.

Plus, I would like to have a theme that perfectly match the gray shade of the new theme...
