The ire in El_koraco's post, makes it obvious me thinks, that there's a story there. A brush with Arch perhaps, resulting in epic face palm borkage. ( Hopefully not irreversible) data loss or system wide breakage ? Leaving a gnu/linux user with a bitter taste in de mouth and forevermore disgust in heart for the offending distro ? Come on El ... Spill.

What happened with Arch Linux, what did Arch ever do 2 ya ? And WHERE WERE YOU Oct 14, 1964 @ approx 3am !?!??!?!

Glad he likes techie stuff. I like techie stuff. Maybe one dy he'll come out with summin great. Who knows, think we all know life is WEIRD. Probably shouldn'tve typed that rant out anyway in da grand scheme ... blahblah. Mainly just wanted to joke around with El about the Arch deal, again not that it matters. Kinda would like to see all the distro users of the world unite. Wouldn't that be a thing to see ?!?!? big_smile

Who cares about Arch Linux when we always have BSD?

Re: [Solved]Linux doesn't see my partitions

It took me like two hours to set up my arch install that I've been using for the past couple months. I used this guide as a reference. Once I was done, it had openbox, tint2, conky, firefox, mplayer, vlc, and that's about all that I use. I've noticed that bugs seem to get fixed faster, my system has a lot less cruft sitting around on the hard drive, and newer features are available in the AUR sooner than they are in sid. RAM usage is just about the same, being that my setup is basically just a stripped down #!. Everyone's experiences are different, but I just kinda roll my eyes when people tell me how hard it is to set up arch.

Even worse. At least it's not as bad as Fedora, though.

Re: [Solved]Linux doesn't see my partitions

Poor Unia. Why do almost all his threads end up so badly off-topic? lol
The guy even marked it solved and we're still posting!!

Back off-topic:
Screw you all. Gosalia Linux is king!!
Now stop arguing, go outside and scream "GOSALIAAAAAA!!!!!" No other distro name sounds as liberating, I tell you. cool

Poor Gutterslob. Unia seems to blame him for everything. sad

Re: [Solved]Linux doesn't see my partitions

Unia, if by customization you mean visual styles and such, you could try installing litestep on windows.

Arch is something really nice, until you leave your computer off for a month because you are too busy moving out and it all breaks when you come back and try to install 200 updates at once. It needs a lot of care that debian based distros usually don't.  That's why I'm using xubuntu on my desktop and crunchbang on my laptop, but I'm trying to decide between finding another distro for my desktop or stick to the LTS xubuntu releases because updating every six months is kinda troublesome.

About the windows on laptops thingie, most laptops are made with an specific windows version in mind, so it makes sense that using any other OS is a royal pain in the ass. Also, even if windows 7 is a huge improvement, it doesn't mean it's worth the price at all.

Re: [Solved]Linux doesn't see my partitions

Yet again, find myself impressed by Gutterslob's simple n yet profound wisdom.

Think screaming @ the top of your lungs sometimes iz good for the soul 4 sure. Though I like to do it preferably in a crowded place. Like Walmart or in a church. Makes it funnier, more interesting etc. Afterwards just turn to da person nearest you and tell em, sorry ... tension breaker ... had to be done. wink

GOSALIAAAAAA!!!!!

Hmmm, I do feel a bit better.

vll !
