Re: Help You!

i'm sorry. what exactly are you offering here? or are you running a Polish forum or something? when you say 'work', that sounds like 'paid' to me. i could be wrong of course. please be more specific about what you want, if you want to get more responses than you've gotten up until now.

Re: Help You!

Pointless babbling ... hey am good @ pointless babbling dang it !

Am sure there's a relatively quick painless way to translate English to Polish. Am all for helping the Polish speaking sisters and brothers of the world get access to the joys of FOSS. Set up a site/blog ... or whatever and start translating the stuff here. The crunchbang and many the gnu/Linux forum are a wealth of info for people of any language. But I don't speak Polish, barely speak English. Best advice I can think to give any non-English speaker is to find some good lang translation software or a site like babblefish etc.

Polish version of babble, according to babblefish ....

Afterthought babble. Thought the mighty google had built in translation stuff too ... "translate this webpage" thing.

Some common cbiz abbreviations. This will save me time and yet @ same time tell folks what the babble is supposed to mean.

Vll ! = ( Viva la gnu/Linux !)    Vl#!! = ( Viva la #! !)    Last but not least, UD ... OD ! = ( Use Debian ... or die !) tongue

Re: Help You!

This looks like a bot to me. I'd just ban it and nuke the thread.

Re: Help You!

Nah, that's a person El ...

Was a recent guy trying to figure out #! who spoke Polish. Imo they just need to use all the junk around the web to help em get a foot up when it comes to English 2 Polish translation. Babblefish was actually pretty darn close from what I tried on the site. If Polish speakers wanna learn gnu/Linux, doesn't seem 2 be much of a language barrier for them. I am wayyyyy toooooo lazy to translate it for them though, shrugs. Don't mind helping folks ... Trying to translate the web 2 Polish for anybodies convenience is NOT an option for me. If they want the info, they can do for themselves me thinks.

blahblahblah ....

Re: Help You!

@el_koraco: well, i kinda waited it out to see what would happen. since more replies came, i figured i'd just respond and see what happens. looked botty to me too, but we'll see.

Re: Help You!

Come to think of it, the guy am babbling about, said he was going to give Corenominal ALOT of cash by way of donation, like 2,000 euros ... Yowza ! That is a nice lil chunk of change. Don't know, if he did donate. ( doubt he did.) Am more a seeing is believing kinda person meself. Not even sure how I'd feel if he did. That's ALOT of money, if x person is passionate about gnu/Linux ... Great. That almost 4 grand might be better spent setting up a Polish Linux site or summin.

This is not my place imo or decision to make. It's up to the person willing to write a 2,000 euro check etc. In other words none of ma friggin bizness, so forth. Though of course do like the idea and approve of more of the people around the world using gnu/Linux, consider FOSS a good cause. In other words blahblahblahblah.

Re: Help You!

^ know the guy you're talking about. i'm skeptical too. we get a lot of Polish workers coming to work here in the Netherlands, and they all get underpaid and they still feel they earn big money. so when i saw a dude claiming to want to donate EUR 2000 to #!... well, hope you'll excuse me for not immediately getting enthusiastic about that.

Re: Help You!

^Same thought crossed my mind too Rhowaldt ...

Many the painful experience in life has taught me the truth behind believe almost none of whatcha hear ( well depending upon who is sayin it o course. wink ) and 1/2 of whatcha see thing. wink You remember the thread and the follow up "I'm gonna donate 4 gazillion to #! thread too", shrugs. Honestly almost posted to that one too. I don't doubt Corenominal deserves n needs some donations to keep #! going, guessing he does. But 2,000 euros, yikes, think that's taking sponsorship a bit far imo.

I could be wrong and o course always acknowledge people's right to do what they want with their stuff though. If someone REALLY likes #! and has the extra money I guess. Whatever makes people happy I try to consider a good thing @ best and none of my bizness the majority of da time. wink
