Topic: [solved]going to attempt a minimal install of deian squeeze then #! it

as the title says in going to do the net install cd of Debian and then follow http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/adding_ … her_distro #!Crunchbang it. as stated in my previous posts ijust cant get #! Statler to work. any sudjestions are more than welcome. im going to do a dualboot so i can keep m y #! 9 to fall back on.

i do have a question. when installing debian do i allow it to install grub or not? with other dual boot linux situations ive read that you do not let the new install write grub and then what you do is boot into your original nix install and run update-grub so that the new install is shown in the grub menu on startup. would this be correct for my situation?

Install grub, you can always edit it later.

ok so my my next and hopefully last question regarding this...
afetr adding 

deb http://packages.crunchbanglinux.org/statler/ statler main

to my repo list then

apt-get update
apt-get install crunchbang-multi-session

this will add everything to turn debian squeeze into crunchbang or are there other steps that i need to take?

thank you Ozi, im going through the process now as im typing this. currently its reformatting the partition that will be used for debian. i wanted to go with openbox but ive read some good feed back on xfce so ill give your script a shot.
