Topic: How do I keep the power manager icon always on the panel?

Hello,

I have cruncheee on my eee1000. Recently I am using the computer a lot at home so it usually is plugged.
Anyhow, when plugged for a while, the power manager icon disappears, so I need to unplug to have iit reappear and be able to do a system suspend at the end of the day.
How do I make it always visible?
And another thing, not related at all, how do I maximise the windows so that they go also over the panel? I already have maximus installed, but the panel is always visible.

Unplug so you can see the battery icon, right click on the battery icon, select "preferences" go to the "general" tab, under "notification area" change the option to "always show".

That said if you just want to get at hibernate and suspend the forums have a couple of logout scripts that offer those options.  I can't remember which one I'm using but look here and here.

As for the panel question, not sure but...

right click the panel, select "Panel Settings" and have a look in there.  Maybe un-check "Reserve space, and not covered by maximized windows"
