Topic: Help with Qemu

En Taro Adun my fellow Crunchbangers.
Wine has failed to run a -windows only- program that is very dear to me.
Someone on youtube suggested using QUEMU because this particular program is not too resource intensive anyway. But there is only one problem.
I dont have any winblows installer CD'S
I require a Windows 98 QUEMU install because XP would hog too much ram.
Seeing as how this is an obsolete operating system I was surprised that one still has to fork out money to microsoft to get a CD.
If anyone knows where I can download an ISO of 98's CD I would much appreciate it.
It does NOT have to be a legal copy seeing as how i will only install one program on it.
Thanks.

P.S: If you picked up on what the program is in the first line of this post- type this at the begenning of your reply: operation cwal.

How can that be? One program or not, you need Windows and that requires a licence.

Re: Help with Qemu

WinXP will run well enough. Runs fine with 64MB of RAM or less. You can use Nlite to make it very lean.

Re: Help with Qemu

^ You're nuts. XP is bad enough on 128MB.

Re: Help with Qemu

XP might be bad on whatever but that's beside the point - I run it frequently in 64MB and it's fit for purpose. I'm not short of RAM to throw at virtual machines. Just to note that for running virtually I selected XP over Win2K because of superior performance.

+1 for that!!  I wouldn't run XP on anything less than a GB!

XP flies on 512mb, fresh install of course.  yikes

I view KDE like I view snow. It looks fun and marvelous, it's fun to play in, but after a while I just want someone to take it all away.

Try asking Bill G. maybe... I say MAYBE he has a copy... smile

If that fails -> google + torrent search should help you out big_smile

+1 to that. Bad publicity to see the title of this thread on the front page.

I believe the appropriate advice has been given here. I'm changing the title and closing the thread.
