Topic: Release cycle

HI to all and any,
you really work like the devil corenominal, and maybe it's a bit premature to ask, but do you have a release cycle planned ? It would help me to know what to expect, in terms of deciding whether to install a revision annually or or semi-annually, as that's how it appears to be headed. Also do you plan a revision of 9.04.01 like there was with 8.10.01 into a 9.04.02, and if so, would that be in a couple of months ?

Future shock is the shattering stress and disorientation that we induce in individuals by subjecting them to too much change in too short a time. ALVIN TOFFLER

Re: Release cycle

I would say there is no release plan except for "whenever its ready (usually a few months after Ubuntu's release)".

Note: ** Please read before posting **

BTW if you wish to contact me, send me an e-mail instead of a PM.

I bet you're on the right track. Corenominal possibly felt a bit pressured to put out the .01 and might like to push out a .02 that was more radical in his own time to totally surprise us. Hate to talk about the boss in the third person on his own forum and all that...

For a distro that had a great following among netbook owners there was obviously great pressure to incorporate the improvements made in Jaunty. I imagine Karmic will offer similar attractions - the main improvement we know about ahead of time is boot time.

And of course we should assume Corenominal is going to want to keep innovating on his machines and seeing as he has the talent he might as well release the results to the rest of us right! wink

Re: Release cycle

One of the reasons that this release was so late was mine and corenominal's marriage in May - sometimes other things have to take precedence! lol
