Topic: Tux Commander (tuxcmd)

Found a file manager, that fits very well into the #! philosophy:

Tux Commander. Beneath a very clean, compact and simple UI it has everything a good file manager needs: 2 panel view, tabs, NC style keyboard shortcuts (F5 copy, F6 move, ...), support for its own mime types, and so on ...

Only thing I'm missing is the keyboard shortcuts to be configurable (but this is the topmost point on the planned features list), and a good default configuration - tuxcmd comes with no predefined mime types at all, so you will have to specify each time you open a file type for the 1st time. (could be solved, of course, if it would be included into #! ...)

Anyways, IMHO this is a great alternative to PcMan, so I wanted you guys to be aware of it - if you love #! and like NC style file managers, this one definitely is for you !

Re: Tux Commander (tuxcmd)

I really like Emelfm2.

If you like tux commander - you should try worker.
It is lean, fast and can be customize.
cons:
looks (gtk old-school) and its more hands on configure file types (mine types).

i use emelfm2 but right now, but i might switch to worker later.
i seen an screen shot of it in this forum and then gave it a try.

Re: Tux Commander (tuxcmd)

holy crap harii, worker seems amazing and very light weight

i use twin panels file managers forever (krusader usually) and im shocked i havnt heard of worker

thx for the tip!!

Re: Tux Commander (tuxcmd)

None of those are quite up to par compared to Krusader (or Total Commander), though.
Which is too bad, as Krusader isn't lightweight at all... (Not on non-KDE systems, anyway.)

Re: Tux Commander (tuxcmd)

i agree STEELBAS

i LOVE krusader and have been using it for 4 years now..but after moving from kde to crunchbang it really doesnt work that well (especially on a netbook....)

if you have similar programs to krusaer in mind would love to find out
