Question for Phillip and Trouble n strife:

1. Over here in America- when all goes to sh*t and there is an emergency, we dial 9-1-1

What do you dial in the UK in an emergency?

2. Do you guys have national Digital TV yet, and if so.. when did you get it.

1.  When it all goes pear-shaped over here in the UK we usually put on the kettle and make a cup of tea first - things always look better after a nice brew up! tongue  If that doesn't work, then we dial 999.

2.  Our Digital TV is on a roll-out schedule for different parts of the UK.  Please see the links below for more info: http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/ or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_television.  The part of the UK that Philip and I reside in isn't due to switch over until sometime during 2011, however, seeing as neither of us watches much TV, it won't make a vast amount of difference to our lives. smile

I hope I've answered your questions satisfactorily. smile

Good ole breakfast tea, or green tea, or what...if you dont mind my asking smile

Re: Question about UK: Trouble n' strife, Phillip

personally I'm a big fan of twinings english breakfast tea. I doubt it's authentically  english but it tastes really good.

We drink most tea's - Tetley, PG Tips, Twinings English Breakfast tea.  Philip is also partial to Chai tea, and I like a cup of green tea in the evening.  Both of us like really strong, well-brewed tea and Philip has been known to set the kitchen timer to optimise the brewing time big_smile

Re: Question about UK: Trouble n' strife, Phillip

when we, "non English people", find ourselves in an emergency in UK, first we brew a cup of tea... to pretend we are English... and then we dial 112....

I think it is a general purpose emergency number for the whole Europe....

112 is the same in germany. I'll vouch for chai anyday, one of the best inventions ever, heres the best blend I've found http://www.amazon.com/Zhenas-Gypsy-Tea- … B000F6UX8I .

I'm personally a fan of Earl Grey, Chai, and Green tea.  I can't stand Orange Pekoe.

Re: Question about UK: Trouble n' strife, Phillip

Mmmm, Co-op 99 tea for preference, green tea or chai when a change is needed. Just off for a brew now...

Re: Question about UK: Trouble n' strife, Phillip

Good ol' Lyons Green Label (I think they're calling it original blend now).

Not sure if it's available outside of Ireland. I think Barry's tea is a more common Irish tea abroad.

Re: Question about UK: Trouble n' strife, Phillip

The more important question is what do you put in your tea?

Like my coffee, I like to drink my tea black.

This turned in to a tea thread! smile
I prefer Twinings Earl Grey, with milk, accompanied by a sandwich with a thick slice of well aged ementaler cheese.

It might explain something that I have lactose intolerance but I find putting milk in anything that you are going to drink just like that is horrible. So my tea is without sugar and without milk, sometimes I may use honey.

What I ment is to unbanned rigo, give man second chance to be constructive member of comunity, and if he become spam agressive, then bann him.
Who knows if he wants to go back at all ?! But this forum has more life with him..
