Topic: Well that's a pain

My site is down. It has been down for at least a day I reckon.

My account was suspended with no notification, and it took my more than a little effort to contact my "friend" who was hosting me.

He then accused me of hosting other sites not related to my personal use, when they were in fact basic test beds with no traffic to them whatsoever.


He activated my account for a little over half an hour, and I backed up my entire site to a remote server owned by someone who actually deserves the term friend.

In the same vein as patrickstein's thread, I'm now looking for new hosting, as I have been told by my "friend" (first one) that I had to get my "shite" (his words, though I understand if I'm modded) off his server, and then said, on msn "cya later loser" before promptly blocking me.


I'm thinking about a VPS possibly, but the main point of this thread was to rant, and to also say that, even though my blog hasn't been updated in a while, it won't be for a bit, so the planet may be missing me tongue

well at least on the positive side you were able to back the stuff up first. I wish I could still just host on my personal server like I did in utah, but for one my connection here is much slower. And I can't get my stupid dsl router to port forward to a linux box, you can't manually put in machine IP's and only windows box's show up in the list. (it's in german too with no english option so it's even harder to figure out) Good luck on your quest for a new host big_smile

Maybe your first friend needs understanding, sympathy and kind words ?
When someone acts negative, often is weak and unsecure..

So I'm back!

Can't get the www. to work, but mehall.co.cc and blog.mehall.co.cc are working fine

(the www. and wiki. probably just need time to propagate across the internet, tbh.)

I've published a blog post saying I'm back, so it should be on the planet in around 8 minutes time, IIR the update timing correctly.
