Topic: CPU loads

So far, I like 9.04 [32-bit]; it is running as well as 8.10 and perhaps better in certain areas, especially boot time (<45seconds).
But I have today discovered one niggling problem: processor load and general slow speed while opening my PDF documents.
Under 8.10 my various catalogs, comix, ezines and so on loaded and displayed quite snappily with Evince. In 9.04, processor load goes over 60% and they load very very slowly. Has anyone else noticed this problem and/or have a work around to bump the load speed? I can't see why it would be laggy under the new Crunchbang.

*edit* I'm now noticing also that opening tarballs is slooow too.....strange.

Re: CPU loads

Try epdfview instead. Also run the #! Live CD and see if it is also slow.
