HP2133; resolution, WLAN and Kernel update

This is some links and notes that help me to solve some of the changes Ive had with putting #! 9.04 in to the netbook HP2133 with the resolution 1024x600 (there is atleast a 1280x800 aswell).

1) update the kernel to 2.6.30 like this: http://www.ramoonus.nl/2009/06/10/linux … ian-linux/

2) Do the restricted hardware drives update .

3) Do system update.

4) Install the wicd with synaptic, that will replace the network-manager-gnome. .......EDIT!(Uuups.........But not this ( ?? ) ie therefore the autostart-file in Openbox.
Has to be editted; replace nm-applet with wicd-client.) But I guess it is a good ide to remove the nm-applet & as that is not going to work.

5) Now to help up with the resolution that got jame with the system update.
In the Terminal write sudo pcmanfm. Go the the /etc/X11/xorg.conf

In case you ......................it says , write Option "PanelSize" "1024x600" at an appropriate place:)
