Topic: crunchbang old laptop?

i no longer have an pc(laptop)  that can handle crunchbang?
old one broke

new one is real old-
i was wondering if one could crunchbang the Ubuntu GTK1.2 Remix?
with synaptic and adding apps or an meta-package?

I googled your laptop and found posts were people installed puppy and DSL.
I would think if they could be installed so can #!.

Have you tried,,,And if so what type of errors are you running into.

As far as turning Ubuntu gtk 1.2 into #!,,,Thats alittle over my head,,,But im assuming you could make a #! like environment.

Hi Harii, I have a Dell Latitude Cpx... it is similar to your Cpi, but a little newer and more powerful (500mhz pentium 3 with 256mb of ram).

Tell me about the error messages/other problems you have trying to run Crunchbang on your Cpi.

Crunchbang 9.04 does not seem to be compatible with the Cpx, not sure about the Cpi:

I used to have #! 8.04 installed on the Cpx, I used the boot parameter "all_generic_ide". Performance was borderline... SliTaz, Puppy, DSL, etc. are a better choice for hardware that ancient (as much as I love Crunchbang).

You could try Boxpup, an openbox "puplet" based on Puppy Linux

I've tried it before and it's a very nice distro. Should hopefully work well on old machines.

i have 128 ram so i don't think its that.
i will use antix for that and use crunchbang on an desktop "junker".
junker is the pc's name.
