Start with a basic #! installation, right?

Is there any way to add a tabbed interface to that similar to the Clutter-based UNR, or is everything on a single panel?

this is wonderful for a netbook setup. it looks wonderful but does scale strange on the 701eeepc.

looking forward to how this develops

- should work on any linux with python/gtk ..
- everything on a single panel, until now .. but maybe later I can add  a tabbed interface

Only user launchers ( config file ) .. but I already have a script to scan /usr/share/applications

edit adesk-launcher .. you can modify some options ( icon size, column, label, .. )

edit adesk-launcher .. ( FULLSCREEN = True  ==> FULLSCREEN = False )

you know ,  sometimes I sleep, too    .. But it's not a bad idea

Its easy to add them:

yes ,  already present .. you can show/hide 'extra' button , simply edit adesk-launcher :

# show 'extra' button [ False / True ]
SHOW_EXTRA = False

and set command :

CMD_REBOOT = 'sudo shutdown -r now'
CMD_SHUTDOWN = 'sudo shutdown -h now'

with  UI ( something like adeskbar-conf ) , you can change all options easily without changing code

I have tested it out on my netbook and I really like it but I am to used to having a desktop. I would suggest making it so that you could set a background on it or using some sort of transparency. Have you looked at the clutter toolkit it is the same toolkit that the Ubuntu Netbook Remix uses.

Hey ADcomp, why do some of the icons look pixelated?

hello ..

some applications only have one icon ( usually 48x48 or worst, 32x32 xpm ) and when you resize to 96x96 ( or 128x128 ) , it looks pixelated 

adesk-launcher do not use 'user' icon theme ( yet ) .. only /usr/share/pixmaps , /usr/share/icons/gnome , /usr/share/icons/hicolor

todo : 1st time you launch "adesk-launcher" , it parses /usr/share/applications ( *.desktop ) and save it in user's config. Now you can add/remove app or change icon , all modification are saved in user's config

Default icon for tuxguitar is /usr/share/pixmaps/tuxguitar.xpm  (32x32) .. But if it's include in your icon theme , you maybe have a bigger one
