Topic: Add TestDisk to repos

Found a niffty little command line recovery tool called TestDrive. You can find the full post here: http://totalinux.org/2009/11/recover-lo … -photorec/.

I tried it out in Karmic on my desktop. Worked perfectly. It recovered 80 photos and 3 small vids, half of which where over a year old!. My camera data stick is pretty small: 256mb. So that may explain why a lot of other pics where not there. Maybe.

At any rate, could this be included in the next #!? I went to their home page and tried to install the.bz2 file, but they only have a x86_64 file! But my Karmic install is x86. Go figure. Their home is at: http://www.cgsecurity.org.

Cheers, Michael

Re: Add TestDisk to repos

Update: When i first tried to install TestDrive from CLI it could not find the package. While searching through all the OO files in synaptic the very last entry was testdrive'. !! So it is installed now.

Highly recommend this little app.
