Topic: MacPup Foxy - WoW!

I stumbled across this distro yesterday, and boy is it swift!!! big_smile
Worth a try, even though the first thing I did was to chose JWM instead of E17 as window manager, but that's just my personal preference.
This distro even makes #! look slow - odd feeling!
I'll keep trying it for a while - an interesting meeting indeed!
If you got the time - give it a go!

Re: MacPup Foxy - WoW!

puppy is really sweet. BUt it doesn't support latest hardware good. But a great deal for a couple of year old computer and before that.

Re: MacPup Foxy - WoW!

Doesn't want to push my screen resolution past 1024 for whatever reason. Looks pretty sharp in Virtualbox though.

There's a multi user version of Puppy that popped out a little while ago that is pretty sweet. The lack of user accounts was always my one gripe with Puppy.

Re: MacPup Foxy - WoW!

^ Does it use the root account by default like other puppies? I've always been turned off puppy and most of its puplets for this reason.

Re: MacPup Foxy - WoW!

I believe that Macpup follows the same default root user account like the rest of Puppy. I agree that it's just a rather odd choice, and think that's why Puppy works best in a live usb or as a rescue disc.
