Topic: Upgrade to Thunderbird 3.0 and Firefox 3.5.5 with UbuntuZilla

Hi all,

If you want a simple way for update your Thunderbird to 3.0 version and your Firefox to 3.5.5, also UbuntuZilla is for you ! It's a python script that allows the user to install the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla SeaMonkey, and Mozilla Thunderbird on Ubuntu Linux and derivative distros, with minimal disturbance to the system.
(the ".deb" installable by 'gdebi' is here : http://sourceforge.net/projects/ubuntuz … /download)

- For Firefox, you have to tape this in a terminal :

ubuntuzilla.py -a install -p firefox

- For thunderbird, you have to tape this in a terminal :

ubuntuzilla.py -a install -p thunderbird

I try this for Thunderbird, have a look to the result :
(this version is in French, but during the installation you can choose the language you want to have, you can backup your configuration, ...)

Re: Upgrade to Thunderbird 3.0 and Firefox 3.5.5 with UbuntuZilla

Just a little thing : you have to launch "firefox", and not "firefox-3.5" if you want to have the lastest version with the botton "find upgrade" in the "help section" of FF (in Terminal : 'gksudo firefox &'). This script update the "firefox-3.0", not the "3.5" wink

Upgrade to FF 3.5.6 big_smile
