What crunchbang needs is an easy list of available applications and update options. And wine or something like that.

To install wine:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine

It is not included by default because not all Linux users need Windows applications. smile

And to get a more up-to-date version of wine, I would use this PPA:
