Topic: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

I've been trying to install Pragha from source and by converting the rpm's with alien, but no luck.
Does anyone here managed to do it, and/or created a working deb-file of it?

Re: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

I got it to install on Madbox 9.10. Not sure about how to properly make a .deb or how to handle dependencies, but I really didn't have to install anything except libalsa-ocaml-dev and some sqlite3 packages... I think. Granted, I've built a lot of things from source and have many devs installed. I did make a .deb file though. Not sure if it will help you or not. Perhaps I could try building it running a live 9.04 environment if necessary, documenting what I did, if it's even possible in #!. Here's a link to the deb: http://www.box.net/shared/b999s7bx8g

Here is a partial list of some of the dependencies:
dbus-glib, flac, libao, libmad, libnotify, libsndfile, libvorbis, sqlite3, libmodplug, libcdio, libcddb, libcurl and taglib

I've probably installed the dev files at some point for some reason... just thought this might help you out.

Thanks - I'll give it a whirl and let you know, it seems like a good audio player, in theory at least...

Re: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

When I:

pragha

I get:

pragha: error while loading shared libraries: libcdio.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So, when I do:

sudo apt-get install libcdio*

I get:

Re: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

Are you using 9.10 or 9.04? What I'll do is boot up a vanilla install and see what I can do. I recognize a few of those packages (libcdio-cdda-dev, libcdio-paranoiia-dev, etc) because I installed them earlier. Just let me know if you're using 9.04 or 9.10 and I can do a fresh build and document what additional packages I install. We just had 2 1/2 feet of snow over the weekend, so I have nothing else to do!

Re: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

The deb might not work if you're using 9.04, but I tried to build from source with a fresh install of Madbox 9.10, and I had to install these, in addition to build-essential: libdbus-ocaml-dev libdbus-1-dev libmodplug-dev libcddb-dev libcdio-paranoia-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev libcurl-dev libsndfile-dev libnotify-dev libsqlite3-dev libsqlite3-ocaml-dev libmad0-dev libtaglib-ocaml-dev libglib2.0-dev libflac-dev libao-dev libalsa-ocaml-dev. One or two may not have been needed, but I was getting frustrated with having to install so many things after failed attempts to configure, LOL. At any rate, it built fine on a fresh install of Madbox 9.10 with the above packages installed. Hope this helps you further.

Hope this doesn't count as overposting...

Re: Unable to install Pragha - please help.

I'm using stadler. I get the same error sad Have solved this problem? I really want to use Pragha on my eee 701 because it seems to be fast and small...

Edit: Sorry, the error is different: libvorbisfile.so.3 is missing. But they are marked as "installed" in synaptic.

Edit2: Oh no not my day. I got it. It is libvorbisfile3. Installed the libary and now it works. Sorry!:/
