ConkyWeather needs a configuration script and you also need to register with the weather.com service. The first post has details about how to get it all working. Hope this helps

Sweet! I really like the conditional statements within Conky, they make it much more usable and give you the ability to perform all manner of neat tricks. Good stuff!

Thanks, I have weather and everything setup, however I'm still getting a huge 'Y' appear where the little temperature gauge picture is supposed to show up (to the left of the cloud). I have looked and it appears all my symbols that are supposed to be of the ConkyWeather font, aren't working. I looked in /usr/share/font/truetype/conkyforecast/ and a ls shows

Moon Phases.ttf (this one seems to be showing the crescent fine)

Ah, yes, sorry, I seem to remember this problem when helping Trouble'n'strife with her conky set-up. The CONKY-colors tarball extracts the fonts into a subdirectory of ~/.fonts instead of directly into the directory. Simply move the fonts directly into the ~/.fonts directory and then run the following command before restarting Conky:
fc-cache -v -fI hope this does the trick for you.
I've almost got my conky config. honed, but I'm having the same big "y" problem. I had nothing in my ~/.fonts directory to start with, but copied all of the files over from ~/usr/share/truetype/conkyforecast/. Ran "fc-cache -v -f" successfully and restarted conky. No luck.
Also, I'm trying to get the cool ubuntu logo I first saw on fabsh's screenshot. I get a "u" in the spot by "kernel." It looks like I don't have openlogo fonts--anyone know where to get them (and where to put them?)
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
The package here [http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … tent=92328] has the fonts.
They'll need to be in /home/$USER/.fonts/conky_colors/
Or you could just get the fonts from here [http://www.fonts4free.net/dsplus/m.php?p=openlogos.zip]
If you need the arch logos, look here [http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=45256]
Run fc-cache -v -f once they're in.

i'm not a big fan of intense conky displays with net info, hard drive space and cpu stats. i mean, how often do you really need to see how much space is on your drive? often enough for it to be inconvenient to see it in the terminal or in thunar? same goes for the other stats, and besides, i keep most of my windows full-screen so i hardly see that info anyway.
on mine i just think having the version and kernel looks cool and as a laptop user, i like the battery display a lot more than the display in lxpanel.

i set the transparency to 100% or whatever and aligned the taskbar to the right. but now i'm running trayer and tint with a slightly different config.

There are so many cool conky configs, that i just dont know wich parts of each one to choose o.o
Well, before I decide that, let me ask, where do you guys get those fonts? 'cuz if Im going to use those configs I want the nice icons as well.
