have a look at this post

ADcomp's script could easily turn the blue save box into a button that can execute whatever command you want

Wow, Mr. Peachy, that's great!

While you're at it, do you know if there's a way to make a built-in terminal in the background (as if it were a permanent part of the wallpaper)?  I've been looking around for that for a while now.

Wow!  That's nice too.  I have to look at that, s/he says that the icons are drawn on your background. Not too sure I like that part.

Regarding my Final Fantasy VII conky... can anyone tell me what color the Barrier and MBarrier bars are?
It's been a while since I played the game and I cant find a screenshot anywhere showing the color of the barrier bars!

Thanks!

Thanks Sector11

But I've looked through all the images google has... either the barrier bars are covered, as in your first link
or they are empty, as in all the screenshots where the barrier bars aren't covered

im after a shot where the bars closest to the character names are uncovered and have color, not just the gray background.

Well, I have FF VII sitting in front of me (Thank my wife she went and found it, now to dust off the machine and fire it up) -- I'll fire it up tonight and get back to you. I have NO way of taking a screenshot, maybe a "digital camera" shot of the TV will do.

Or I could type it out.  big_smile

Re: My Conky Config

Wow, you guys!  I'm ridiculously excited to see how your FF conkies (conkeys? conkys?) turn out!

I've got one in the works that I'll put up soon.

I don't remember the Mbarrier or Barrier bar colours, sorry... That's the one thing I miss about Windows, is a functional FFVII.  I never did get much into QGears (http://q-gears.sourceforge.net/), though I would if it were further developed.

Oooh Conky excitement!!:D

cool!  I have had several FF7 cravings over the years which have resulted in me buying a used playstation and the game, playing the game exhaustively and then somehow or other getting rid of said playstation, only to have subsequent cravings making me buy other playstations smile

anyway, a description would do just fine, a picture would be great also!

My next challenge is how far to go in altering the layout to make the conky function in terms of giving information!

@rabidfox -  see what you have done! smile  I'm looking forward to seeing your setup.

Re: My Conky Config

ff7 conky update

http://ompldr.org/tNW94aQ

so in the first box i have processor, memory and storage

the bars opposit processor, the top (blue for now) will be cpu usage now, the one beneath (green for now) will be the 5 minute average cpu usage

same for memory, usage now and 5 min average usage

storage - blue bar is one HDD, green bar is my second HDD

I'm pretty happy with how my bars have turned out

the second section is going to be a little tougher to get right in terms of which bars and numbers relate to what,
right now the numbers and lines under the numbers are just static, and all the pink and yellow bars show current cpu usage

i am open to suggestions smile
