Because Openbox doesn't have a "suspend " option when you power it down through the GUI.
sudo pm-suspend
if you add this line with visudo then you can run pm-suspend without root
kbmonkey ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/pm-suspend(obviously where you are not kbmonkey)
I then made this executable script in /usr/bin/lock-and-suspend
#! /bin/sh
xscreensaver-command -lock & sleep 2 && sudo pm-suspendwhich you can then run anywhere, like binding a kb shortcut through your WM ![]()
