Topic: Monitor flickering

Ever since plugging this new monitor in, the screen flickers every 10 seconds are so.  It's a pretty quick flicker, not so much a flash of black as a flash of the screen zoomed in.  lxrandr picked up the resolution (1280x1024) just fine if that matters.

Any ideas on how to fix it? yikes

Wouldn't happen to have Conky in a full screen config, would you?

Me and &ru had a similiar issue with his laptop, it would "flicker" (well, froze) every 10 seconds due to the conky scripts he was running, might be something to check.

Nah, conky only takes up a small area in the top right.  It does keep track of CPU & RAM usage though, think the constant updating of that might have something to do with it? hmm

Do you have an ATI graphics card and compositing running?

In my experience, there's a bug in the ATI driver that makes video/changes/other stuff flicker when compositing is working. So when I go to watch a video, I just kill xcompmgr. Solves that problem.
