Topic: NetworkManager command line

Occasionally my network is disabled after waking up from hibernation. I don't know if it's still a problem on newer versions (I'm on 8.10) but it's annoying as I have to start trayer to access NetworkManager via nm-applet, and enable networking.

I think I have a fix. I'm adding to my menu "Network restart" with the command:

/etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart

(I figured this out from suggestions I received in Identica. Another option was to install cnetworkmanager and run:

cnetworkmanager -o true

However cnetworkmanager is only available as sourcecode, unless it's in the debian repositories...)

Edit:
I've just been told that the latest networkmanager in Fedora 13 (due May 2010) has command line version: nmcli. Good news, and hope it makes it into Statler! The above info might be useful as an alternative or for old versions, though.
