How to install HP printer... easy peasy (Solved)

How to install your USB connected printer in Crunchbang Statler:

I had to seerrch to find out the basics and then everything clicked...:)

Right_click the Desktop area
Choose System>Synaptic Package Manager
Click on Search tool
Type system-config-printer and press the return key
Double_left_click the line with your search item on it and follow the prompts hitting the 'okay' button as you need to
The program will eventually return you to the main Synaptic screen which should now have the 'apply' tool active, click it
The system-config-printer application will now be installed
Hold Alt and press F2 key, let go both
A small single line window appears
Enter system-config-printer on the line and hit return
An apllication will now appear which should allow you to add your printer
Follow the logical steps
If your printer has not appeared then switch it off. Allow a moment or two for it to completely shut off then start it again
This is what I had to do after starting the printer application we just installed and my printer suddenly appeared in the application window
I then went into Google Maps to print out a street location and Hey Presto, my printer was on the list with lots of options
Much easier than MS Windows and a fraction of the time to install once I knew what to do.
