Topic: Distrowatch description to be updated?

I noticed that the Distrowatch description still states that CB is Ubuntu based:

I was wondering when it is going to be updated. Maybe once word gets round that it's Debian based now, may attract more users. Not saying that there's anything wrong with Ubuntu, but the change to Debian was what made me finally keep CB as my main OS.

Re: Distrowatch description to be updated?

We had same question a little while ago in relation to wikipedia entry - I suppose same answer applies: wait until release.

With an alpha or a beta now and again, and not being side-tracked by this issue and that, I'm sure that enough people will get wind of the fact that CB has now gone the Debian route. It was mentioned in the DW newsletter, and look how the hpd has shot up.

Re: Distrowatch description to be updated?

Yeah, I noticed the HPD (last 3 months filter), that's why I posted. I know DW HPD isn't an exact science and all that, but it's a very important site for prospective Linux users, who DO take the HPD seriously.

There has been a lot of Ubuntu negativity lately, and I wouldn't want any of that to rub off onto Statler.

Re: Distrowatch description to be updated?

I guess the project is in a state of flux at the moment. The 9.04.01 release, which is the current stable release is based on Ubuntu. I should think that when a stable Statler is released, the Distrowatch description will be updated to reflect the switch to Debian?!

Re: Distrowatch description to be updated?

I just checked, and..it's updated. Based on Debian, with XFCE and Openbox, etc.

nevermind. Not everything. The paragraph below still says Ubuntu, and the screenshot is from 8.10 I think.  Of course, I agree with Toolz to wait until the next release.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
