Topic: Crunchbang or #! ??

just one (probably rather silly) question..

which one do you prefer: the word 'crunchbang' or simply '#!' ?? I know that '#!' is short and quicker, but 'crunchbang' is somehow easier for the eyes to read..

thanks. smile

Thanks for everything Linux has taught, is teaching, and will teach me...

#!

I'm a  fan of CrunchBang too, since in my mind, each are seperate sounds, and could be two separate sentences (like 'Crunch! Bang!').
#! is just really easy.

Re: Crunchbang or #! ??

To me, CrunchBang is the name of the distro, while #! is the logo.  In this case, the logo just happens to be more typesetter-friendly than Debian's magic smoke or Ubuntu's circle of people holding hands.  Besides, you see CruncgBang and you know how to pronounce it, whereas the pronunciation of the shebang is more ambiguous.

I'd say use CrunchBang in text; save the logo for artwork.

Re: Crunchbang or #! ??

I mostly use "CrunchBang", however I do use "#!" on these forums since people will usually know what it means.

Re: Crunchbang or #! ??

Seems to me, that the official name is:  Crunchbang/Linux

And the official Logo is:  #!

I often use both, in conjunction ... #!Crunchbang

The #! logo, is just like the distribution ... short, sharp and to the point.  Minimalist, as it were.

And where else, can you find a distribution, that makes your computer go 'crunch*bang' like we do?

As an Architect/Designer, I'm a more 'visual' person.

Re: Crunchbang or #! ??

I use "Crunchbang" more often because I just read this word some times ago and it was saved by my brain - #! is used just sometimes.

cheers
