Topic: Gnome-Control-Center integration..

Hi all.

I realized that the current stable version of CrunchBang, 9.0.4, doesn't have an effective Control-Control-Center. You know how the GCC makes life easier on people, specially beginners in editing many of the system's settings. I don't think the xxkb usage in terminal would be easy for beginners or linux first-timers. So, I would suggest that the intergration of the GCC to the new #! 10 as it may make it easier to edit much of the system's settings easily and with just a GUI.

Oh, eagerly awaiting the final #!'s release! smile

Thanks..

Re: Gnome-Control-Center integration..

I think you mean something like this right?
In which case, you'll want to check out the XFCE version of #!.

The reason #! 9.04, and #! 10 (Openbox) don't have a control center as you describe, is because they are using Openbox.
#! Statler, the XFCE version, included a control center, and perhaps is something your more familiar with?

Re: Gnome-Control-Center integration..

For openbox, you could try Lxdecc: http://i30.tinypic.com/sgreja.jpg

This was part of PclinuxOs-LXDE-Edition, but also works in openbox with a bit of editing the script. Though, if you know, what you want to do, #!'s right-click menu offers the same functionality...

Download (rpm only): http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/ … h.rpm.html

Convert to deb by alien and/or packageconverter, then get gtkdialog (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/i386 … 2:0.7.20-4) and install the debs.
