Topic: Evolution Locking up Frequently

Hi guys, I'm running a unmodified versoin of statler since initial release. Overall I love it great.

My apt/sources.list is unmodified, and frequently since inception evolution is locking up. Never for a particular reason, just always.

I am running evolution with 3 gmail accounts (all IMAP) on a relatively low bandwith connection (philippines), I've seen some issues on launchpad to do with calendar synchronization maybe causing this, but i've disabled all that still to no avail.

I really like evolution and think it's a great mail client, I really just am getting impatient with these lockups.

It locks up, I wait about 15-20 seconds then it unfreezes. This happens often even when composing messages.

I have a feeling it's a bug in gnome.. but i'm not sure..

Is anyone else having this issue?

Re: Evolution Locking up Frequently

For what it is worth, no Evolution packages have been tampered with and so they should be coming to you directly from the Debian repositories. If you have not done so already, it might be worth checking any existing bugs: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgrepor … =evolution

Sorry I could not be of more help. sad

Re: Evolution Locking up Frequently

I was using Evolution for a while and had frequent problems connecting to our Exchanger sever. It wasn't a lockup as such but more of a frequent not being able to connect.

Since changing to Thunderbird, I've had no problems.
