Topic: 9.04.01 to Statler transition

Dear All

After intensive statler testing on various machines i finally decided to switch my main machine (FSC 7110) to Statler.

Actually i prefer to have the "minimal" install of the current alpha and add applications (by means of the post-install-script) and Synaptic as per my needs.

I have created a list of all current apps i use on a daily basis in 9.04.01. I feel it will be fine just to add the missing ones into Statler after the fresh install.

I just do not have a clear picture by now in which problems i may run after having backed-up all my data to an external hard disk ... I am especially worried how to "transfer" my huge mailbox from Thunderbird in 9.04.01 w/o access rights problems. Is there anything else i have to take care of? Maybe somebody else here has already done what i am trying to achieve now.

Thx. for your comments/recommendations.

PS: Hoodie already ordered ...:D

Afaik the Thunderbird mailbox is stored in your home folder maybe under ~/.thunderbird or ~/.mozilla/thunderbird. You should have no problems using the config under Statler since anything under your home folder can be accessed and modified by users.
