Topic: Crunchbang-Debian Logo

This is absolutely 100% unofficial, but I like it.

I found some work by omns dating back to 2008:

CrunchBangLogo_Stripes_full_by_omns.png

not sure where, but by Googling: "CrunchBang Logo"

And I added a "Debian Logo" of the same colour in order to keep with the dark side theme of  #! I call it:

Imagine the tint2 panel on the bottom, conkyrc and you have my desktop - but at 1280x1024.

Re: Crunchbang-Debian Logo

very sophisticated, very minimalistic, very #!

#!, all else is but a shadow!

Yes it is, and 99% of the work is pure omns.  I just added the Debian part, that's gotta be worth 1%.

Re: Crunchbang-Debian Logo

can you use a better swirl? that ones kinda jaggy. Also, since the #! is reflected, you'll need to create a reflection of the swirl
....just saying (artist inside me lol)

just call me...

sad  I know, I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, when I changed the colour (it was red) to match omns's work it left an edge.  I don't know how to get rid of it.

And I have no idea what "reflected" is ... other than I see omns is pointing me in that direction in the post that follows yours.

Thanks, but it's 99% yours.  And now I feel like I've ruined it with the rough edged Debian logo and no reflection.

I'll check out that plugin though.  maybe you could do a more professional job of it.

I really like the simplicity of it.

Re: Crunchbang-Debian Logo

OK, I bit the bullet, got the reflection plugin, and played with this all day. I told you I am not an artist.

Here's what I have:

Transparent reflected logo:

CrunchBang_Statler_1280x1024.png

CrunchBang_Statler_Stripes_full_by_omns.png (1600x1200)

Sometimes, not knowing something isn't good enough.
Now I feel better about this.

Thanks omns for your work which I used for this, and the all important link.
Thanks FiniteStateMachine for your push in the right direction, and
Thanks vicshrike for the kind words.

Re: Crunchbang-Debian Logo

You can also get a #! logo from my deviantart site. It's made to the same specs as the one corenominal uses and is not made with a font so it scales well to any size you like. There are two versions.

A black one here http://omns.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d23qx54

and a white one here http://omns.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d23qxae

Make sure you use the download link rather than saving the image that appears. Oh, and when you use the download link on the white one you'll just see a white page. The image is there, just invisible because it's white and transparent on a white background. Just right click and save the image.

Got them and have you bookmarked.  Nice stuff there.
Thanks.

I'm using the transparent one I created as my avatar here, and will probably change it on other forums as well ... or maube another ... I have a though.  You've inspired me.
