Topic: Greetings from Manchester UK

I have been a long time linux user mostly xubuntu. I recently switched to
#! statler and WOW! what a great os! im pleased with the switch to debian
as ubuntu was rather bloated as of late and I dont care for the direction
canonical is taking as far as development is concerned. Cheers!

Welcome to #!Crunchbang and the #!Forums.

I see you've noticed the big differances between #!Statler/Xfce and Xubuntu.

Being that #!Crunchbang/Xfce is not built over a Gnome-base ... makes it a lot lighter and very fast.
The Xfce Desktop Environment works the way it was meant to run, as a 'stand-alone' desktop.

And the change from #!Crunchbang being based on Ubuntu ... to being based on Debian Squeeze ... makes it all the better.

does use a gnome base which is a complete buzz kill for me.  Corenominal keep up the good work mate!!
