Topic: Statler Live CD not showing up

Hi,
I've  Intel Celeron in my laptop, so I've made a CD of Statler with the version i686 (is it correct?)
The computer boots automatically from the CD. But the CrunchBang menu with the list of options doesn't appear.  I've waited for a couple of minutes, but nothing.
The live cd I have with CB 9..., is i386 and works perfect.

thanks.

Re: Statler Live CD not showing up

Hi bastiano,

yes, the i686 ISO should work on a Celeron. Have you burned the CD as ISO image? If possible, burn it on lowest speed. Don't just copy the ISO file on CD, but make it a real 'bootable CD' using the ISO file. Which program do you use for burning the CD?

Let's all get forked.

Re: Statler Live CD not showing up

I've burned the ISO image with "cdburnerxp" http://cdburnerxp.se/?lang=en at the lowest speed.

I've tried the ISO image with "MobaLiveCD" http://mobalivecd-en.mobatek.net/ Here it shows the CB menu options list, I press enter in the live version and the process starts, but it takes a very long time and it restarts itself before finishing.

Also I've checked the MD5 with "WinMD5Sum" http://download.cnet.com/WinMD5Sum/3000 … 15915.html and it is the same than the MD5 in the Statler download link.

Re: Statler Live CD not showing up

Ok, that's interesting. (By the way, if possible "Disc-at-once" is recommended for burning ISOs.)
Can you quickly post your hardware/computer specifications?

Re: Statler Live CD not showing up

The computer is a laptop HP ProBook 4310s with Windows XP Pro. Version 2002 Service Pack 3. Intel Celeron Dual-Core
T3000 @ 1.80GHz, 1.92GB of RAM.

Good point with "Disc-at-once" option. It is in the program I've used but in a contextual menu that I didn't see before. I'll make an USB for trying Statler  in my EEE PC 1000H netbook. I think the problem is not Statler but the CD burner or the quality of the CD.
