Topic: suggestion: Include ntp

For some reason my clock just skipped an hour. Installing ntp (internet synch time) solved it. apt-get install ntp is easy - but I still suggest it included, as I for one rely on my computer clock, and take internet time for granted :-)

thanks again for a wonderfull statlerII

Where was that donation page?

Re: suggestion: Include ntp

I saw the same problem, but installed ntpdate instead of ntp.
I only want my machine to query an ntp server for the time and don't plan on serving the time myself.

The odd thing...  I noticed ntpdate-debian when trying to run ntpdate.  Was it already included?

Anyway, running     sudo ntpdate-debian     works great.

Re: suggestion: Include ntp

I installed ntpdate and ran it but I'm still off by 24 hours and the time in conky doesn't match the system time either.  Any help would be appreciated.

PS: Might be a locale setting issue with regard to the system time????

Currently running "Statler" - Openbox edition.
