Topic: Trying to configure an Apple wireless repeater

Not to start yet ANOTHER thread, but I'm trying to expand the wireless network in my house. I have a Linksys/Cisco WRT100 wireless router. I seem to have been able to successfully program an Apple Airport Express. I can even see it in my connections option (clicking the wireless icon on the taskbar).

Trouble is, I can't connect to it. Every time I try, it just keeps giving me a message that I've disconnected from the regular wireless network (which is naturally weaker in that part of the house), and tries to reconnect. No matter how many times I try this, the same thing keeps happening.

Re: Trying to configure an Apple wireless repeater

Uncheck the option in Edit Connection to have your regular wireless network autoconnect on that machine.

Re: Trying to configure an Apple wireless repeater

Thanks, that helped, but I think my repeater is not compatible. I've set it up exac tly, but it only comes up in the list under "hidden networks," which doesn't make sense, and has a signal strength of 0%, which also makes no sense since I'm sitting next to it. Bah, I think I'll take it back and look for a more Linux-friendly alternative.
