Topic: [SOLVED] Copy of Statler Alpha 1?
Hi all,
I've finally gotten a new computer, but the thing is, it uses a wireless card that needs ndiswrapper. No biggie, right?
Then I found that the link that the ndiswrapper wiki provided for the firmware was either old or the server was down, and was without Internet.
Then I remembered I burned a copy of Statler Alpha 2, so I tried that, thinking it might try to install the wireless drivers, as Statler Alpha 1 and Ubuntu before it had always tried to do. Halfway through the setup installation, when it actually gets to the part where you actually install the OS, it freezes up, saying that "The installation could not be completed. You may skip this step or retry.". At the network setup step, it asks "Please retrieve firmware ipw2200-bss.fw on removable media", and presented me with retrying or skipping. I skipped, and am currently looking for ipw2200-bss.fw.
Anyway, I'm writing this from Ubuntu, using wireless, but would rather get Debian up and running, so if anyone happens to have an untouched ISO of statler alpha 1, it'd be GREATLY appreciated.
Also, any help anyone can give regarding the wireless situation would be appreciated as well. My wireless card is an Intel Corp. Pro/Wireless 2200BG [Calexico2].
