Topic: Keyboard layout problem

I've installed crunchbang 10 alpha 2 and I'm having a problem getting the right keyboard layout. I need American English and I've got some sort of British layout. I did dpkg-reconfigure console-data and chose the American layout and it affirmed that the installed keyboard layout was "us" but the layout hasn't changed. I also did dpkg-reconfigure locales, with the same result. I installed crunchbang on two machines and I'm having the same problem on both.

I found the answer to the problem:

and then reboot.
