Awesome! Thanks. ![]()
...that mean things worked out with Unetbootin???
I just recently did my first usb install, and after figuring out how to set BIOS to boot it, I loved it. Will probably not use CD/DVDs anymore at all.:D
um, well, no. But I am excited about it for my other computers. I can't boot from USB on that old laptop. I'm just going to get my cousin to burn me a CD. (which I have to wait for, gggrrrrr).
I'm not too disapointed because the whole point of this experiment was to learn and I have learned a ton about setting up bios and how to use checksome and how live CD's work and all kinds of neet stuff. So, even though I have failed (so far) I feel like it was a success. I'm well on my way to making my own distro ![]()
I'm well on my way to making my own distro
Your own distro? That will take a lot of knowledge and skill. I think you mean doing a minimal install and building your system on top of that. That's exactly what I did and I'm far from being an expert. I'm only seriously using Linux for 3 to 4 months now! So yes, in the near future you will laugh about this issue and happily using your own system! ![]()
LOL I. Never even knew what Linux was. Untill Aug 11th of this year and to be honest I'm about an 'above average' computer user, by no means a technician or programmer.
So yeah, "my own distro" is a bit of a stretch. But I'd love some info about what you did!
