Topic: Is there a firewall enabled?

Hey, I was just trying to connect to Gnutella to download some GPL music from FrostWire but Frostwire is unable to connect. Is there like a firewall or something I could disable? I checked to see if it was connecting to Tor by accident but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Re: Is there a firewall enabled?

When I tried Frostwire in Ubuntu, I was completely unable to connect to any of the P2P networks.  The Windows equivalent was able to connect with no problems.  I think my ISP (TWC RoadRunner) has its own firewalls that Linux cannot penetrate; I'm pretty sure that TWC and MS are in bed together.

while ( ! ( succeed = try() ) );

Re: Is there a firewall enabled?

@CrunchyFree - Do you have a router with firewall enabled? Also have you done a port check like ShieldsUp?

@pvsage - How strange, I have RoadRunner as well and Im able to use torrents and Nicotine+ without problem.
