Topic: time

hey
i just ordered myself a new hdd which means i will be installing #! on it very soon
now i do have a problem
i know that the last two times i messed up when installing when choosing the time
can anyone tell me what i have to do on install to get the right time?

Re: time

Strange,
as long as you have a working internet connection during the install process and chose your proper timezone in the installer, you should have correct time and date.

Anyways, if you need to set the date and time post-install;

for time (in 24hr format)

sudo date --set hh:mm:ss

Replace hh with hour, mm with minute and ss with seconds.

for date

sudo date --set yyyy-mm-dd

Replace yyyy with the year, mm with month and dd with day.

You can also do the above in a root terminal without sudo if you desire.

Re: time

i have a working hour on my pc now but my hdd is weird, every time i enter gparted while not in #! i get a warning unreadable file system and when i boot into #! it says "bad something: probably due to hardware clock" or something -- fixed and it works while in #!
so that concerns me
