I don't know how to mark a topic solved. will someone please mark my topic
CD/DVD drive not working VLC error

Go to your first post, and press 'Edit'... Then you can edit the topic subject as well...

maybe you can mark this as "HOWTO"? (maybe someone who needs it will find it)
