Topic: crossover office in crunchbang openbox

I've recently installed an openbox version of cb-a2 and noticed one problem. Once I've installed crossover office and restored my backup-archive for microsoft office (only word and excel there) there are not open with menus. However I did the "set-file types" inside COO, no files in home/.local/share/applications/ where created to support "open with". It could be an openbox problem, because while I've had an xfce4 (I was using openbox all the time anyway) - I had no difficulties whatsoever with opening my .doc files with both OOO and MS Word.

I've actually set custom open-with menu for my *.doc files i.e. ~/bin/winword or just winword, but I don't like this solution roll

I'm currently thinking about making an install of xfce4 desktop, then restoring an backup-archive there setting the thunar "open with" and deleting the xfce4 afterwards. The questions are, would it help? and is there a more simple way in openbox?

Re: crossover office in crunchbang openbox

i think you can install thunar on its own (w/o the whole of xfce)
try

sudo apt-get -s install thunar

in a terminal. this will simulate the installation (with the '-s' ) and you can see the dependencies
