Topic: How Do I install 9.04 default theme in Statler

After installing #! statler, I found that the font hinting is not so good as in 9.04, ubuntu has the best default font hinting of all the distros. And the new theme in #! alpha2 seems have some bugs : when the mouse hover on context menu on desktop, the focused menu is wider than other menu items. How can I install the 9.04 theme which I fancy very much. Thanks.

I'd also like to do this, but more for aesthetic reasons.

It needs to happen soon, because I'm starting to get used to the Statler theme tongue

Re: How Do I install 9.04 default theme in Statler

For font hinting, you need to edit ~/.fonts.conf

And to install the theme from 9.04, you'll first need access to 9.04, then its simply a matter of grabbing the theme folder (/usr/share/themes/whatseverthenameis) and then copying it to your Statler machine.

BTW could you post a screenshot of this bug you're seeing?

Does one put the CrunchBang theme folder in ~/.themes?

Also, I in particular am doing this from 9.04 (openbox) to 10 (Xfce). I don't think there should be a problem, as my 9.04 machine also has Xfce installed, and it uses the CrunchBang theme nicely.

~/.themes is fine if you're the only user. I tend to use /usr/share/themes/ out of habit.
